Comprehensive Ovarian Cancer Clinic
Patients who have been diagnosed with ovarian cancer face an almost overwhelming number of questions about treatment. Most patients require both surgery and chemotherapy at the time of diagnosis. In other cases, patients have already received treatment and are looking for new options, including enrolling in a clinical trial.
About the Clinic
The Comprehensive Ovarian Cancer Clinic at Northwestern Medicine has been designed to help answer the tough questions that patients with ovarian cancer face by offering a collaborative approach to treatment. Dr. Daniela Matei, a medical oncologist and Co-Leader of the Women’s Cancer Research Program at the Lurie Cancer Center, has created a unique multidisciplinary clinic for patients diagnosed with ovarian cancer.
Dr. Matei offers a comprehensive range of expertise needed to treat patients with ovarian cancer, including cytoreductive surgery, intraperitoneal chemotherapy, and clinical trials for all phases of the disease process. Through our partnership with the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center, patients have access to innovative clinical trials that may not be available at other institutions. Patients also have access to our Supportive Oncology program, including social workers, nutritionists, and psychologists who help patients cope with their diagnosis. By offering the complementary perspectives of Drs. Matei and our team experts, the clinic provides a more extensive range of options than may be available elsewhere.
