Leah Petrak, PA

Leah Petrak is a Physician Assistant on the inpatient Gynecologic Oncology Service. Leah participates in the care of inpatient gynecologic oncology patients in the Maggie Daley Center for Women’s Cancer Care within Prentice Women’s Hospital. This care includes:

• Postoperative management of surgical patients
• Assessment and management of patients receiving inpatient chemotherapy
• Assessment and management of patients admitted for symptom management
• Ensuring smooth transition home for patients at the time of discharge

She strives to provide patient-centered care while focusing on collaboration and communication between all members of the healthcare team. Leah also aims to be an advocate and educator for her patients so that our team can provide them with exceptional care throughout their cancer journey. 

Leah received her Bachelors in Human Biology and Health Promotion from Michigan State University. She continued her education at Feinberg School of Medicine where she received her Masters in Physician Assistant Studies. She is board-certified as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. 

Leah’s passion for Gynecologic Oncology began when she participated in a clinical rotation at Lake Forest Hospital with the Gynecologic Oncology team. She continues to be inspired by the patient population and enjoys being a part of such a compassionate and experienced team here at Northwestern.
